In September 2002, the National Geographic Society placed a new robot in the Gantenbrink shaft. It was equipped with a small drill. The robot drilled a hole through the door and pushed a tiny camera through. About 18 centimeters behind the first door was a wall.8 Mark Lehner, the most famous Egyptologist in America, said it was a “symbolic closure” through which the Pharaoh's soul had to travel in order to enter the world of the dead.9 Dr. Hawass interpreted the wall as “another sealed door.” Even the copper fittings on the door couldn't have any practical significance in the eyes of the experts. It was about “symbolic fittings,” they said.

The National Geographic Society's robot also passed through the hitherto unknown shaft on the north side of the Queen's Chamber. This shaft does not go up at an angle like the south shaft; it goes around the Great Gallery, which must have complicated the engineer's planning at (supposedly) Cheops's time. This shaft also had a door with two copper fittings, at the same height as the south shaft, that blocked further progress.

After this discovery, years passed. A new robot, dubbed Djedi, passed through the Gantenbrink shaft on the south side. In Arabic, the word Djedi means Cheops. This robot drilled a hole that was just big enough to pass an endoscope through into the wall. On the other side, the endoscope showed a small, polished room. At the top of the left wall, something like a red smear or a sign became visible.

Hieroglyphs were widely used in Cheops's time, but whatever this smear was, it was not hieroglyphs.10

The experts recognize pure symbolism in everything. Whether it is shafts, fittings, or doors. The soul of the pharaoh is supposed to divide itself, and at the same time, escape through the north and south shafts. Obviously, the poor pharaonic soul has not managed this schizophrenic act of division. Both doors have remained sealed since the construction of the pyramid. May the symbolism-clouded minds of Egyptologists break free someday.
